It is common for construction near signalized intersections to damage in-ground loops that detect vehicles. When this happens, the traffic signal operates in a fixed time mode, resulting in some delays. Green lights may seem too short during peak periods or too long late at night, but it’s due to this temporary condition. Detection-based operations will resume when the loops are repaired.
