Turlock City Council Provides Direction on Fire Services Partnership

Turlock, CA | March 25, 2026 - The Turlock City Council has provided direction to continue evaluating collaborative approaches for fire service delivery, including administrative support provided by the Modesto Fire Department. The Council's direction reflects a shared commitment to maintaining high-quality, efficient, and responsive services for the Turlock community.

Since 2022, Modesto has assisted Turlock Fire with administrative operations under an agreement set to conclude on June 30, 2026. The Council’s direction reflects a commitment to evaluating the most effective and sustainable models for fire service delivery, while prioritizing the safety of residents and firefighters.

“Our priority is ensuring the Turlock community continues to receive reliable, high-quality fire service. This direction allows us to take a thoughtful approach as we evaluate how best to support our firefighters and meet the needs of our city, both now and into the future,” said Mayor Amy Bublak.

In addition, the Council approved the purchase of a new ladder truck, replacing a front-line apparatus that has been in service since 2001. This investment underscores the City’s focus on firefighter safety, operational readiness, and reliable emergency response.

Turlock looks forward to continuing discussions with its partners to advance fire services that are efficient, responsive, and aligned with community priorities.
