PRESS RELEASE: Wayside Drive Homicide: Victim Identified, Suspect Arrested
Turlock, CA – On April 16, 2024 at approximately 6:58 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Wayside Drive for a report of a shooting that had just occurred. When officers arrived on-scene, they located two (2) gunshot victims and immediately began rendering aid. One of the victims was struck multiple times in the arm and was taken to a Modesto hospital where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. The second victim, Amado “Dominic” Escobedo III, 19 of Ceres, was located in the roadway. Despite lifesaving measures, Dominic was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Turlock, CA – On April 9, 2024, Detectives and the Turlock Special Investigations Unit (S.I.U.), arrested Manmeet Sarang, 36 of Fremont, after he traveled to Turlock in hopes of meeting and engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old decoy.
