Election Information

  • General Municipal Election is held in November of even-numbered years.
  • There are six elected officials in the City of Turlock: four Councilmembers, one Mayor, and one City Treasurer.
  • Councilmembers are elected at-large and do not represent one specific district.
  • All elected officials in the City of Turlock serve four-year terms.
  • There are no term limits for elected officials in Turlock.
  • A general municipal election is held every two years. In November 2010, the mayoral seat and two council seats will be open for election. In November 2008, the remaining two council seats and the City Treasurer will be open for election.
  • To qualify as a candidate, one must be a registered voter of the City of Turlock. To become a registered voter of the City of Turlock, one must reside within the city limits, be at least eighteen years of age, and be a registered voter.
  • The position of Vice Mayor is rotated annually among the Turlock City Councilmembers.
