There are a number of items that are a common cause of sewer blockage and sewer overflows. Additionally, if disposed down sinks or toilets, these items may jam pumping equipment and harm the wastewater treatment process.

• Disposable disinfectant cleaning wipes
• All feminine personal hygiene products
• Disposable diapers
• Facial cleansing, baby and cleaning wipes
• Bandages and band-aids
• Razor blades
• Cotton balls/swabs, Q-Tips
• Syringes and needles
• Incontinence pads
• Plastic bags and wrappers
• Disposable toilet brushes
