Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance
The Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance Division’s primary responsibility is the Regional Water Quality Control Facility. These duties include the preventative maintenance, repair, replacement and installation of electrical motors, pumps, valves, compressors, hydraulic units and various other pieces of equipment used in the wastewater treatment process. In addition to these duties, the Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the following:
- 18 sewer lift (pump) stations that collect sewage and convey it to the City’s Regional Water Quality Control Facility
- 24 well sites that provide drinking water to the City’s 70,000 residents
- 42 storm water pump stations that help in the storage and conveyance of rain water
- 4,250 street lights that provide lighting throughout the community
- A cutting edge SCADA* system that remotely monitors and provides real time information on the water quality control facility, well sites, storm stations, and sewer lift stations and transmits this data to a local command center
The Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance Division is comprised of nine full-time employees, including an instrumentation technician. Due to the equipment maintained, staff remains on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
