Fire Permits
The following information will help you obtain a fire permit. Fire Permits are issued by Turlock Fire Services.
Assembly Permits
(105.8.p.2) Use of a building or structure, or a portion thereof, for “the gathering together of 50 or more persons for purposes as deliberation, education, instruction, worship, entertainment, amusement, drinking, dining or awaiting transportation”.
Fee: $35.00Good For: 1 year
Compressed Gases Permit
(105.8.c.7) “To store, use or handle at normal at normal temperatures and pressures compressed gases in excess of the amounts listed in Table 105-A. When the compressed gases in use of storage exceed the amounts listed in Table 105-A, a permit is required to install, repair, abandon, remove, place temporarily out of service, close or substantially modify a compressed gas system”.
Exceptions:
1. Routine Maintenance
2. For emergency repair work performed on an emergency basis, application for permit shall be made within two working days of commencement of work.

Dispensing Flammable Liquids Permit
(105.8.m.3) “To dispense flammable or combustible liquids, liquefied petroleum gases or compressed natural gas at motor vehicle fuel-dispensing stations”.

Dust-Producing Operations Permit
(105.8.d.2) “To operate grain elevator, flour starch mill, feed mill, or plant pulverizing aluminum, coal, cocoa, magnesium, spices or sugar, or other operation producing combustible dusts”.
Fee: $35.00Good For: 1 year
Flammable & Combustible Liquids Permit
(105.8.f.3) There are many different scenarios under which this type of permit would be required. The most commonly cited one is “To store, handle or use Class II or Class III-A liquids in excess of 25 gallons (94.6 L) in a building or in excess of 60 gallons (227.1 L) outside a building, except for the fuel oil used in connection with oil-burning equipment”.

Hazardous Materials Permit
(105.8.h.1) “To store, transport on site, dispense, use or handle hazardous materials in excess of the amounts listed in Table 105-C or to install, repair, abandon, remove, place temporarily out of service, close or substantially modify a storage facility or other area regulated by Article 80 when the hazardous materials in use or storage exceed the amounts listed in Table 105-C”.

High-Piled Combustible Storage Permit
(105.8.h.2) “To use any building or portion hereof as a high-piled storage area exceeding 500 square feet (46.45 m2). Plans shall be submitted with applications for such permits in accordance with Article 81”. Please contact the fire department for a detailed explanation of Article 81’s requirements.

Liquefied Petroleum Gases Permit
(8202.1) “For a permit to store, use, handle or dispense LP-gas, or to install or maintain an LP-gas container”.

Repair Garage Permit
(105.8.r.3) "To use a structure as a place of business for servicing or repairing motor vehicles."

Tent / Canopy Permit
