Traffic Volume Counts
Our count data is gathered on thru streets, rather than intersections, and is based on a data collection range of one week. The figures shown represent the average daily total (ADT) based on this week. The two-way count is the combination of the bi-directional breakdown, either north & south or east & west, which is also provided. Our count stations are constantly being reviewed, changed, and updated as needed. We do our best to update the count data as much as possible, as the weather and staffing levels allow; you'll find that most counts are less than two years old.
We are currently publishing our count data as a KML overlay over Google Maps. This provides an interactive way of viewing the traffic count data over a map of Turlock.
NOTE: Due to budget cuts our traffic counting program was heavily reduced in 2009. Most count stations reflect volumes from 2008 or earlier. If you need more current information, please consider hiring a private firm to collect the information you need.
